CREDITS
The Bunker is a loft situated on the first floor of a building located at 222 Bowery in New York, built in 1884 and initially used as the Young Men's Institute by the YMCA, which became the apartment of the writer William S. Burroughs, from 1974 until 1997, the year of his death. Culturally as well as architecturally it is one of the most interesting buildings in the area: the painter Fernand Léger lived there in 1940 and 1941; Mark Rothko also lived there for a time.
After the death of Burroughs, the poet John Giorno acquired the apartment leaving it largely unchanged.
